What is treason?

             We find crowds on our streets calling for the impeachment of President George Bush…..calling for an immediate end to the war in Iraq...and we see our young men and women fighting our battle in Iraq and also in Afghanistan.  

             And if that isn’t treason enough…..how about our Congress moving to pass legislation disavowing the war…..calling for an immediate retreat, and virtually calling the President a war monger.

             Treason, in my book, is working to have our forces in Iraq not only retreat, but also suffer defeat, and open the doors for our enemies to really benefit from the deaths of more than 2,000 of our young men and women.

In Washington….they don’t call it treason…..they call it covering your butt for the next election.  You see if the war ends in a defeat and a retreat then they can gleefully claim they were right…..regardless of what it does to the future of the country.   If they are wrong….they can also claim that they were just expressing the views of the people in the streets, and point to what they term the polls showing Americans disapprove of the war.

Never mind what message it sends to not only our troops overseas, but also the message that it sends to the terrorists as well as to even our current allies.

You would think that the history of our disastrous defeat in Vietnam and the resulting death of several millions who supported us there would be enough to strengthen our current search for victory in Iraq.

The Democratically controlled Congress is determined to hand the President a defeat…...never mind what it does to our troops, our enemies or our allies.

Frankly, in my book, every Congressperson who votes for one or the other of their traitorous actions should be called traitors and certainly voted out of office at the next election.

The Democrats have taken Control of Congress on a pledge that they would be responsible…….and if our troops in Iraq are defeated….they must take full responsibility.

You can call this the view of an old veteran of World War Two when we were a nation united...and emerged victorious over Hitler, Tojo and Mussolini.

I’m ashamed that our Congress is even considering a resolution that is nothing more than a rebuke to our President and a victory for our attackers.
